When should I order my tower?Always order your cheese wedding cake well in advance so you can be sure that the cheese will be available and perfectly ripe on the day. We suggest a minimum of one month prior to the event.
-
When should I start putting my tower together?Your cheese tower can be assembled hours before you need it and stored in a cold room or fridge until needed. Keep in mind that soft cheeses can collapse, it is better to stack soft cheeses closer to the time of eating.
-
How to do I eat the tower? After the tower has served it's purpose, i.e. for the 'cake cutting', separate the cheeses onto boards with knives and crackers. Some of the hard cheeses are best to be taken away and cut into bite size pieces, again, most venues are happy to do this as they normally would cut a dessert cake.
-
What should I decorate the tower with? There are many styling options: flowers, fresh fruit, dried fruit, herbs, mini bunting, cake toppers, greenery, nuts and honeycomb. You will also want a selection of breads and crackers to serve your cheese with – and don’t forget the knives!
-
How much cheese do I need?About 70-100g of cheese per person is ideal for an after-dinner course. Double that if you are making it the main attraction!
-
Handcrafted cheese informationThe beautiful part of handcrafted items, whether it is cheese or anything else made with love, some of the cheese arrives in a different shape than expected. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this, it may just mean that your tower is layered slightly different than expected, still with the same decadent cheese included.
-
Imported cheese informationWe pride ourselves on having gourmet cheese that is not readily available in your local supermarket. A lot of our cheese are imported from around the world to make our towers truly decadent. While we do everything within our power to have your cheese arrive, very rarely, but sometimes there is a supply issue. We do have plenty more cheeses available that we will be able to substitute for, either equal or better. We will try to give you as much notice as possible if this does occur and provide you with your gourmet options.
-
Can I hire items and order from you?You certainly can. We have a great range of display items - including a cart! -, cheese knives and a florist on hand to help decorate the tower, and your venue if you need!
-
How should I put the tower together? When putting your cheese tower together have a plan in mind. Prepare by unwrapping your cheeses. Place the hardest cheeses with the greatest diameter at the base of the tower (usually a cheddar). The softest and smallest can be placed towards the top of the tower. Then dress with your floral decorations, dried and fresh fruits to your own style. Tip: Ask your florist to assist with wired flowers and just get creative.
-
How should I display my tower? We recommend for you to buy, hire or make a great cake stand - we offer a range of display options.
-
Do I need anything extra to go with my tower? You definitely need boards to put the cheeses on once the 'cake cutting' has occurred, as well as the crackers and any other additions you have to accompany the cheese. Cheese knives are also a must!
